Simply insert the new disc into the drive and double click the CD-ROM Today icon in Windows. Easy! 1 Creative Multimedia Sampler: D:\CREATIVE\CMCDEMO. EXE 2 If you've never used one of our discs, or if you deleted the old icon, you'll have to set up a 2 Putnam New Media Sampler: D:\PUTNAM\SAMPLER. EXE new one. First start Windows, and make sure the CD-ROM Today disc is in your CD drive. In the Windows Program Manager... 3 Medio Sampler: D:\MEDIO\MSAMPLER. EXE 4 Romeo and Juliet: D:\SHSPEARE\SETUP.EXE 3 Select the program group where you want to place the icon by single-clicking it. Then use the File menu and select the New... option. When a dialog box appears, choose the Program Item option. 5 Director 4.0 for Windows: D:\DIRECTOR\EVALCOPY\SETUP.EXE Authorware Professional: D:\APW\INSTALL.EXE 4 Browse the CD-ROM drive (usually D:) and select the file CDRTODAY.EXE. Click OK at the message about the CD being a network path (a bit of Windows silliness). DOS demos... 5 That process will install the CD-ROM Today icon on your screen. To run the disc, all you need to do is double-click the icon. We've included a simple DOS interface for installing and running the demos. Quit from Windows, and at the prompt of your CD-ROM drive (normally D:) type GO and press Enter. The DOS interface caters for PCs where the hard drive is C., and the CD-ROM drive is D:, E., F:, or G:. If your PC is not set up in this way, turn to the disc pages of the magazine for manual installation procedures. Windows demos... Many of the PC demos on the disc are for Windows and you can install or run most of them from the CD-ROM Today program.
